How much physics can art accommodate? A "whispering bridge" designed by an artist raises the fundamental question of how much creative originality is present in a design that is essentially determined by physical laws. This "form follows function" problem is particularly well-known from trademark and design law in relation to patents. The Bochum Regional Court has now examined this from a copyright perspective.
